Curious about College? Welcome!

Accessing the right college or Choosing a college that is right for you are two very difficult tasks, especially when there a numerous issues to consider, such as:

  • What steps are necessary to get there?
  • When and how do I start?
  • Where will I best be supported under a 504 Plan?

Well, you’re in the right place!  We are here to support your climb to achievement in finding the right college match and fit for you!  We are your support team.  Let’s get started right now.

I have been an educational counselor and consultant for over 20 years in Greenwich and Westchester county, and I never had to advertise my services. I have successfully held a full client load year-round strictly from word-of-mouth referral business from past clients and knowledgeable colleagues. So, why am I on the web now? Because I’m on a mission to help you, particularly students given Section 504 Class Accommodations, receive everything you need to know about finding the ideal college for you!

I’m taking all my years of experience and creating this educational hub because I cannot find it available anywhere else online. I have been given feedback from clients that there is no one who can do every part of the process for 504 classed students. So many have to hire several different people or groups, and often the different contributors do not work well within the whole plan. Call me an idealistic visionary, or a determined blogger; but, I’m eager to tell the families there is hope and resources to make the college of your choice a possibility for you!

Eligibility for Section 504

I’ve seen this scenario too many times:

Many students, with 504 Plans, have often been told that they are different because of their specific challenges and accommodations. They are very aware of this because they have had to overcome many difficulties throughout their entire school careers. The challenges many face are not just because of their own disability, but also because of obstacles presented by their school systems from learning skills resources or lack of specific learning skills supports. Then, when it’s coming close to the end of your high school career, a milestone of great accomplishment, you find out that your teachers and school counselors never believed in your ability to get into particular schools, and that they feel strongly that such college choices are not a likely options for you. You feel discouraged at best and sabotaged at worst. The school systems basically tell the parents that there are no more realistic options for their child, and these families are left deflated and hopeless. Sadly, some do not even think they have the right to ask for more effective support.

Well, I’m here to tell you differently! I have successfully helped more than a thousand students who need alternative learning methods in school to get into the college of their dreams, and some of their dreams included Ivy league and first-tier universities. So, are you ready to get to work?
