Meg Glass & Associates, LLC. regards security and confidentiality of data and information to be of the utmost importance. As such, all individuals employed by the Consulting firm must follow the procedures outlined below:

 

Confidentiality of Data

Each individual granted access to student client and Parent or Guardian data and information holds a position of trust and must preserve the security and confidentiality of the information s/he uses. All individuals are required to abide by all applicable Federal and State guidelines and the Consulting firm policies regarding confidentiality of data including, but not limited to, the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA protects student information and may not be released without proper authorization. Any such requests for information/documents should be referred the principal for the Consulting firm, Meg Glass.

 

Individuals with authorized access to Meg Glass & Associates, LLC.’s computer resources, information system, records or files are given access to use the Consulting firm’s data or files solely for the business of the Consulting firm used for services purchased through Meg Glass & Associates, LLC.

Specifically, all individuals should:

  1. Access data solely in order to perform his/her job responsibilities.
  2. Not seek personal benefit or permit others to benefit personally from any data that has come to them through their work assignments.
  3. Not release any Consulting firm data other than what is required in completion of job responsibilities.
  4. Not exhibit or divulge the contents of any record, file or information system to any person except as it is related to the completion of their job responsibilities required to complete the service purchased.

 

Additionally, individuals are not permitted to operate or request others to operate any of the Consulting firm data equipment for personal business, to make unauthorized copies of any of the Consulting firm software or related documentation, or use such equipment for any reason not specifically required by the individual’s job description for the completion of services procured by the student client and/or the Parent or Guardian of the student client.

 

It is the individual’s responsibility to report immediately to the principal, Meg Glass, any violation of this policy or any other action, which violates confidentiality of data.

Security Measures and Procedures

Some individuals may be employed by the consulting firm are supplied with a network account to access the data necessary for the completion of their job responsibilities for purchased services by the Student Client and/or the Parent or Guardian of the Student Client. Users of the Consulting firm information systems are required to follow the procedures outlined below:

 

  1. All transactions, processed by a user ID and password, are the responsibility of the person to whom the user ID was assigned. The user’s ID and password must remain confidential and must not be shared with anyone.
  2. Access to any student client or staff account may be granted by the staff member and/or the Principal of The Consulting firm for specific job requirements. He/She is prohibited from viewing or accessing additional information (in any format). Any access obtained without written authorization is considered unauthorized access.
  3. Passwords should be changed periodically or if there is reason to believe they have been compromised or revealed inadvertently.
  4. Upon termination or transfer of an individual, IT and or the Principal, Meg Glass, will immediately remove access to The Consulting Firm’s data. The email account may stay active for a period of up to 30 days.

I understand that my access to Consulting firm data and information provided by any student client and/or the student client’s Parent or Guardian is for the sole purpose of carrying out my job responsibilities under specific services purchases.

 

Breach of confidentiality, including aiding, abetting, or acting in conspiracy with any other person to violate any part of this policy, may result in sanctions, civil or criminal prosecution and penalties, employment and/or suspension, or revocation of all account access privileges. I understand that misuse of consulting firm data and information and any violation of this policy or the FERPA policy are grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including, dismissal from the account.

We appreciate your trust and confidence and will work to maintain it throughout our relationship.
